X-T30 ii or X-M5 as a backup camera?

So, I usually shoot with a Fujifilm X-S20 that I bought in November for an upcoming trip in less than 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the camera was damaged and is currently in repair. I don’t think it will be ready in time, so I’m cameraless for now. To cover the trip and serve as a longer-term backup, I’m looking to get another Fujifilm camera.

I’m torn between the X-M5 and X-T30 II, as they’re both around the same price (though the X-T30 II is slightly cheaper). The X-T30 II has an EVF, which I use occasionally on the X-S20, while the X-M5 doesn’t. On the other hand, I like the compact size of the X-M5 (as I came from an old X20), and its rotating screen reminds me of the X-S20, which I absolutely love.

The camera will mainly be for photography, with just a little video here and there. Since this is a backup, video isn’t my top priority.

Should I go for the X-T30 II or the X-M5?

First Lens for X-T3

I think to buy an used X-T3 but I don't know if I should buy the one with XF 18-55mm or 35mm prime lens, I'll be taking landscape and car photos mostly and read 35mm is sharper.

Top Comment: Don't be put off from the 18-55mm, just because it's a kit lens. Fuji did well in making even this "starter lens" a really good lens. I don't own it, but I borrowed it from a friend and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. I used it on my X-T4 and it was happy with the photosi shot. I'm sure with the X-T3 it will be amazing as well. Yes the 35mm is sharper, however if you want to do landscape AND vehicles having the zoom to start would be better in my opinion, and once you figure out what focal length you use most often or wish you had, you can always sell the 18-55 for a lens that will suit your style.
